This weekend Maura went on her first date. I was not too nervous, becuase it was with her daddy. What a great time she had though. She got all dressed up and her and daddy went to the movies and ice cream. She was so excited when she came home to tell me about the movie, but mostly to tell me she drank soda! I really do think these dates are important. Dads are super important in girls' lives. My girls are lucky, they have a great one.
The following day, Mo had a b-day party to go to, so Mags and B and Daddy went on a mini "daddy date." Maybe this weekend Mags can go do something all alone with daddy.

It is happening already.
I am an embarrassment to my daughter... already. Last week at soccer, at the first water break, I did something that was mortifying... I hugged her. Well that was it, soccer was done for that day. She began crying and slowly walking back to the field, then turned around in front of all the others moms and yelled, I don't love you anymore! That was nice. Maggie then proceeded to fall over on the play ground and get a bloody chin. I am still trying to convince Mo to go back to soccer and every now and then mags would say "My chin REALLY hurts." Poor thing. We have soccer again tomorrow. I asked if if she wanted to go, she said she would go, IF I didn't hug her. Hands off! There will be no public displays of affection on the soccer field tomorrow! Let's see if we can make it to the second water break...

Tidbits...
I have not written in a while, so I have little tidbits from the last two weeks to record.
For my dad's (Grandad's) birthday we gave him a little mini surprise party at his office. Me, Maura, Maggie and Bridget were on the guest list. The girls dressed up in their Easter dresses and showed up (I drove them) at Grandad's office with a cake and a homemade card. Maura had made up a song... Happy Birthday Handsome Grandad... to sing. It was lots of fun. The girls put on a show for everyone at the office, holding hands and running around like crazy. They were definitely on a sugar high, and we left just at the right time. There were meltdowns, followed by naps, in the car. I think B and Mags slept in the car in the driveway for about 2 hours that day.
B is getting on all fours and wanting to move so badly. She just cant figure out how to do it yet. I am excited for her, because she is dying to get on the move with her sisters, but thinking about babyproofing again is no fun!
Maura and Maggie got their hair cut today. Maggie was a real trooper for the first time really. She has been good the last two times, but was great today. Maggie, my prayer for you is that your hair does, well, something, to make it a little easier to work with.
Maura starts soccer tomorrow. She has shinguards and all. We'll see how she does. Last year at sports camp she spent most of it playing "ring around the rosie" with Isabel!
Tonight Maura and Maggie prayed for ... people without dogs, people who don't go to church and people who don't know what New Years is!! random!
Maggie is the sweetheart in her class. Her teachers say she is so helpful with all the little ones. When she sits beside them at the table she will rub their back or their heads. She is doing a great job at school with potty training. Not as good at home. I should say her teachers are doing a great job at school and mommy not so much at home. I need to more on top of her. I have gotten lazy.
We finally stopped swaddling B. On another note, B Loves to eat!! She will easily eat 3 to 4 times what M and M eat at dinner. She flips out when her food runs out if she is not full. You cannot get back to her with seconds (or thirds) fast enough.
Maura is learning addition in school. I think that is crazy!! She is enjoying practicing at home. She can now write the alphabet pretty much, and is practicing for the "Address and Phone Number Bee" at school. Address she knows, phone number, well, lots of random numbers, and letters, get thrown in. I guess we will have to work on that. I remember learning how to write my last name in Kindergarten. Was I an idiot?
When I picked up Maura at school today her teacher said "You should have heard Maura singing today." This is a big deal, as she rarely raises her voice above a whisper in her class, even when I am there. When I asked her why she is so quiet, she said it is because you are supposed to be quiet in class... duh! At home I cannot shut her up.

Give that girl a hand!
We have to reasons to be applauding girls this weekend. First, Aunt Colleen ran a marathon for the first time this weekend in DC. We all went to see her and had a great time cheering her on. The girls had their shirts on that said... My aunt runs faster than your aunt, and Eat my aunt's dust. B's said crawl, walk, run... marathon! We really did have a great time. I think the girls loved riding the Metro the best.
The second reason to clap is that B clapped for the first time. We went to the circus, after a totally crazy morning, on Sunday. B loved it so much, she started *jumping* up and down and clapping. That was the first time she ever did it. She also is now eating table foods. Today for lunch she had chicken nuggets and peas. She just sat in her high chair and gobbled them all up!!
